Familiarity

It’s a small thing, but today I dropped the pregnancy thing into casual conversation with someone at work I hadn’t already told. It’s an indicator of increasing relaxation and familiarity I feel about the pregnancy. In the beginning the whole thing is a huge and new experience, totally alien and exotic. Now I’ve had several months to start to get into it, and telling people is no longer a big thing, and there is no longer any need to tell the right people in the right order. Of course, the whole thing is still enormous and actually having a baby will probably knock any sense of understanding of the process out of me.
