Headless

Hannah has an amusing story from her trip to hospital on Tuesday. As she and Barbara were waiting in the ward before Hannah went in for her surgery, Hannah complained about a spot that was giving her grief. Barbara offered to squeeze it . They had the curtains pulled round the bed, so other people in the ward could hear but not see them, but everyone else would have noticed Hannah was pregnant while in the waiting room. Hannah said to her Mum, ‘Get it out, it’s agony’; to which Barbara replied, ‘I can’t it’s got no head’. Shortly after, as Hannah was being wheeled away to surgery, she overheard one of the other girls on the ward on the phone saying ‘You know, it’s sick, like. There’s this woman here who is pregnant and she was trying to get the baby out but she can’t because it’s got no head!’
