Wrap Up on Yahoo

July 1, 2009

I’ve just done my last post on the old blog, giving the link onwards to here. I won’t repeat it here, but thought it worth posting the summary of the blog and my life since I started blogging. It’s not a long summary, but better than nothing:

“It’s been a journey, and in that time I’ve become a father, changed job and moved house. Hannah’s pregnancy was the first big thread on the blog, with many difficult times during that. Running in parallel was the housemove saga, with folks dropping out of the sale of our house. Then I got edged out of my job (something I really didn’t blog much at the time), but thankfully landed somewhere very good in another department. Of course the pregnancy ended with the birth of wonderful Ella, and she has grown and become a lovely daughter for Hannah and I, and we very much love her. It’s amazing how she changes week to week, never mind the startling transformation that has happened in her first two years of life. There have been some trips away blogged, various visits of folks to chez Brear and other events (which frankly I forget now, but that’s why I’ve blogged).”

Stick or Twist

July 1, 2009

Should I stick with WordPress, given it’s provided the tools to jump from my old Yahoo 360 blog? I’ve created a Blogger account, and even put a couple of posts there, but I think I’ll try out WordPress first. What is disappointing about the import is that all the tags from Yahoo have been lost, and I don’t think I’m going to go back through them all adding categories. Does anyone use them?

For reference, the Blogger site is http://kieronb1.blogspot.com/. I’ll leave it for now.

So, as I did on the Blogger, I’ll note the hits on the old Yahoo site – 8,836. Thanks to all of those folks for reading along for the 2 and a half years I blogged on there. Hopefully the new site will prove even more successful.

Which of the myriad of buttons do I hit to post this thing?

The Blog will be Moving

May 31, 2009

Yahoo 360 is closing down, only a year after it was announced it would. Therefore this blog will be moving elsewhere. I’m not sure where yet, but obviously I’ll let my dedicated readers know the new location and when it will move. Yahoo have provided an export function, so the old posts will still appear on the new one. I’ve yet to try it out, so there is a chance that might not work, which would be a real shame.
